Chris Strople Signature Board Length: 34 inches. Width: 10 inches. Wheelbase: 16.5 inches. Chris is one of the originals from the few groups of San Diego and LA skaters that invented, perfected and presented bowl skating to the world during the late 70's and early 80's. Strople has chosen Pool King Skateboards to oversee the production and marketing of his first signature deck in 20 years called the Ally Oop 1034, named after an aerial maneuver invented by Chris in the late 70's. The Chris Strople Ally Oop 1034 was designed by Chris with an old school vs. new school shape that reflects all 30 some years of his expert knowledge in high performance skating. The Ally Oop is highly versatile for all types of tranny and levels of skill. The Chris Strople Ally Oop is a perfect bowl cruiser; stable, comfortable, state of the art. The Chris Strople signature production model features deck art by Jeff Tatum and is built in San Diego, California, USA from the finest materials at one of the world's finest skate deck factories, Watson Laminates. There will be a limited run of special edition Chris Strople Ally Oop 1034 decks released in summer 2007 featuring an engraved and hand signed Chris Strople signature with a limited color screen. They will be available only on the Pool King Skateboard web site or directly through Chris Strople. Strople is legit. I know, I was there. -JT The
Strople deck design is kind of different for me, which made it extra fun
to do. “It's a trip.” Chris Strople was one of my favorite
skaters in the day. I never imagined 30 years later I'd be drawing on
his new ride. I wanted to keep it basic but I also wanted kind of a layering
effect that sort of blended together. It's one of those designs that reacts
very differently with each color scheme. Some colors work killer some
just don't. Finding the right mixes is just a matter of trial and error.
Seeing the art on an actual deck is of course the only way to see how
and what pops the best. We are also going to be experimenting with different
background stains, which make a huge change in the way the art comes across.
This particular sample is a black and white design on a dirty sage green
background stain. The very first batch of Chris Strople decks will have
5 or 6 different background stain test colors. Unmellow yellow, dirty
sage green, Pool King green, cool aid purple, dirty orange juice and a
couple others. There will be only 25 Pool King Strople decks out of this
first batch that will be available with a limited color scheme, laser
etched Chris Stople signature and an original Chris Strople signature.
